PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurates Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore

LAHORE: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says PML-N government firmly believes in making Pakistan a developed state providing all facilities to the people.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore on Saturday evening.
Prime Minister said various power projects are being completed speedily, as sufficient electricity is key to industrial development. He said that development work and network of motorways and highways is being expanded in all parts of country, including Balochistan.
Nawaz Sharif said these development projects are removing the sense of deprivation in Balochistan and will bring a revolution in the lives of people.
He said that Gwadar will be made a city of international standard with the provision of all world call facilities to the people. He said as a result of the construction of highways, the people of Gwadar can travel to Quetta far easier than the past. He said that the highway network will connect Balochistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central Asian States and China.
The park, besides providing entertainment to the citizens, will also become a new landmark of Pakistan's culture.
Along with renovation of the Minar-i-Pakistan, the project features expansion of the Iqbal Park by including it in the stretch of Circular Road between the park and Lahore Fort.
The 125-acre green oasis is surrounded almost entirely by the old city of Lahore.
Visitors can lounge on rolling lawns and have the panoramic view of the symbolic Minar-e-Pakistan, the majestic Lahore Fort, the iconic Azadi Interchange and the historic Badshahi Mosque that also shelters the tomb of Allama Iqbal.
Beautiful dancing fountains with colourful lights have also been installed at the Greater Iqbal Park.
