KPK Government initiative for promoting small business in province

PESHAWAR: (APP) Suppliers Development Program (SDP), a joint venture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, UNDP and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) launched on Wednesday for promotion of small business.
The program is aimed to create employment opportunities in the province besides promoting small businesses and improving production the small industrial units through use of modern technology.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Mineral Development Anisa Zaib Tahirkheli addressing the inaugural ceremony as chief guest here Wednesday said the KP government was taking various steps for sustainable economic development and promotion of industries.
She said that the province had huge potential of investment in mineral resources and industrial development, adding that due to investor-friendly policies of the provincial government, investors had started investing here which resulted in strengthening of industries.
On the occasion, Secretary Industries Farrah Hamid Khan, Secretary Planning and Development Sayed Zafar Ali Shah, UNDP Country Director Mark Andrefrank and Chief Commercial Officer KP Economic Development and Management Company Adil Salahuddin and person related with business and industries were also present.
The SDP is an initiative of the KP government in collaboration with SMEDA and UNDP for strengthening of industrial production at national and international levels through use of new technology, besides ensuring conducive environment for the program, Farrah Hamid said.
