Congo Virus : Precautionary measures to buy sacrificial goat

LAHORE: (APP) Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital Prof. Ghias Un Nabi Tayyab has stressed the need for taking maximum preventive measures against congo virus while dealing with sacrificial animals on Eid ul Azha.

He said that congo virus grows in the skin of goats and other such animals.

He expressed these views while addressing an awareness workshop regarding congo virus held at the Lahore General Hospital. The workshop was also attended by MS LGH Dr. Junaid Mirza, doctors, nurses and paramedics in a large number.

Prof. Ghias Un Nabi Tayyab said that congo virus in inhabitant of African countries which is created from tucks living in the skins of goats, cows, buffaloes and camels, adding that these tucks live by sucking blood of these animals.

The patient of congo virus suffers from nuisance, fever, hunger, weakness and swelling of eyes, and also falls short of white cells immediately and starts bleeding which causes death.

He said that congo is fast spreading disease all over the world, therefore, everyone should be very careful about it. The principal also answered the questions of participants about congo during the workshop.
