ISLAMABAD:I killed rival activists and law enforcement officials on the orders of party leaders, Raees Mama told a judicial magistrate on Monday.
Raees held the charge of MQM’s Korangi sector in 2011 when policemen were killed in the Chakra Goth ambush.
He said he also carried out extortion and ‘China cutting’ in the city’s Korangi area. His statement was recorded before the City Court magistrate under Section 164.
The magistrate remanded the suspect into judicial custody for 14 days.
Raees was brought to Karachi last month after Interpol caught him Malaysia. He is said to be the right hand of Hammad Siddiqui, the primary accused in the Baldia Town factory fire. He is believed to have fuelled sectarian and ethnic tensions in the city. APP/AFP
