GDP growth rate to remain 5.8pc in current fiscal year: Miftah

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister's Adviser on finance Miftah Ismail says GDP growth rate during the current fiscal year will remain 5.8 percent.
Speaking at a pre-budget seminar in Islamabad, he said new power plants will become operational by June this year and add more electricity to the national grid.
Miftah Ismail said the inflation rate remained four percent during the last five years which was over 11 percent in the era of previous government.
The Adviser said that budget allocation for Benazir Income Support Program is being enhanced up to one hundred and twenty billion rupees. APP/AFP
