Governor KP Iqbal Zafar Jhagra resigns from his post

PESHAWAR – Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Friday stepped down from his post asKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor.

According to the details, Jhagra informed that he has sent his resignationto President Mamnoon Hussain. He said he discharged his responsibilities asper the constitution and treated every political party without anydiscrimination.

His resignation comes a day after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), whichis set to form the government at the centre, nominated Shah Farman as thenext governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier, former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair and Punjab governor MalikRafique Rajwana, who were appointed to the posts during the previous PML-Nterm, had already stepped down from their positions in light of theinstruction of the party.

It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab governor and Iqbal Jhagra hadoutright refused to resign from his office in defiance of the instructionsof the leadership of the PML-N.
