DG ISI Lt General Nadeem Anjum extension confirmed by government

Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum's term of service has been extended. A government source confirmed this, dispelling speculations in the matter. According to private TV channels, General Nadeem Anjum will continue to serve in this capacity.

This decision was approved on September 14. Previously, former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had extended the tenure of Faiz Asadullah in the Intelligence Bureau one week before his retirement.

Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum assumed the role of DG ISI on November 20, 2021, replacing General Faiz Hameed, who was appointed as the Corps Commander Peshawar. Before this appointment, General Nadeem Anjum served as the Corps Commander Karachi, and he has been posted in Karachi since September 2019 after being promoted as a three-star general.

He is originally from Mehrabpur, Sheikhupura. He was commissioned in September 1988 and is a graduate of the 78th Long Course of the Pakistan Military Academy, with his affiliation to the Punjab Regiment
