ISLAMABAD - Pakistan strongly hits out at the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his latest announcement.
Pakistani delegation was speaking at the special moot of Foreign Ministers of the OIC at Jeddah.
Pakistani Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood said that the unilateral and irresponsible announcement by the Israeli Prime Minister is a dangerous development to perpetuate occupation and further disenfranchise Palestinians.
In his statement, he said the announcement is in violation of the UN Security Council resolutions and principles of International law.
Shafqat Mehmood led Pakistan delegation in the extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah on Sunday.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the announcement by the Israeli Prime Minister of his intention to annex territories in the occupied West Bank in the event of winning Israeli Elections.
He reaffirmed Pakistan's full solidarity with the Palestinian cause and reiterated Pakistan's principled position that the establishment of a viable, independent and contiguous State of Palestine, on the basis of internationally agreed parameters.
