New name surface for Skipper of Pakistan cricket team to replace Babar Azam

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik has stated that if Babar Azam steps down from the captaincy for any reason, Shaheen Afridi would be the best choice for captaincy.

Speaking on a private TV channel, he discussed the leadership of the national cricket team and the captaincy abilities of fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. He mentioned that the way Shaheen led Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) shows his leadership skills.

During the program, a question was asked about who has the capability to lead the national team after the ICC Cricket World Cup. Shoaib Malik mentioned Shaheen Afridi's name as someone who could take on the leadership role.

The former captain expressed that Shaheen Afridi would be the best choice as a captain for white-ball cricket, particularly for One Day Internationals, as fast bowlers often need to rest in Test matches.

He added that even the people associated with Lahore Qalandars have acknowledged that Shaheen Afridi is a good and aggressive captain, and they often make decisions themselves regarding his captaincy.

Remember that before the Pakistan-India World Cup match, Shoaib Malik had advised Babar Azam to step down from the captaincy and focus on playing as a player.
