Pakistan Navy inducts indigenous built ship in its arsenal

KARACHI - Pakistan Navy has inducted an indigenous built ship in its arsenal.

Speaking on the commissioning of the ship, President Arif Alvi has reaffirmed the commitment to provide all necessary resources to enhance the capability of Pakistan Navy and develop the maritime sector on modern lines.

He was addressing the commissioning ceremony of Pakistan Navy Fleet Tanker in Karachi on Tuesday.

The President pointed out that the complete operationalization of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project and Gwadar port will enhance trade activities manifold.

He said such a development also calls for a strong seaward defense not only for Gwadar but the entire coastal belt. He said the government is cognizant of the need to have a potent Pakistan Navy and commended the efforts of the force for maritime security.

Addressing the ceremony, Naval Chief Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said the induction of indigenously built ship is a symbol of pride and land mark achievement which reflects our industrial strength.
