President vows to achieve food security, alleviate poverty in line with SDGS

World Food Day is being observed on Monday. World Food Day is being observed on Monday with the theme “Change the Future of Migration: Invest in Food Security and Rural Development".
The Day is being observed to highlight the migration of large number of people due to increased conflicts and political instability worldwide.
President Mamnoon Hussain on this occasion in his message said Pakistan has made significant progress in food production over the last seventy years as it has witnessed considerable increase in the production of wheat and rice.
He said present government is also focusing on the sustainable development of agriculture sector and has taken a number of measures for welfare of the farming community.
The President said Pakistan is committed to achieve food security and alleviate poverty in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
