APHC spokesman in a statement said remarks of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh that Vallabhbhai Patel was not allowed to act freely to resolve the issue is an admission that Kashmir was not a part of India.
The spokesman said Indian home minister admits that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stopped Sardar Patel from merging Kashmir with India. This testifies the claim that Kashmir is not part of India.
Reiterating the demand for right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, the APHC said Kashmir continues to be a dispute and India needs to fulfill its commitment which it pledged at the international forums.
