ASF arrests drug, currency smugglers at Allama Iqbal International Airport

LAHORE: The Airport Security Force (ASF) staff Sunday arrested drug and currency smugglers in two different raids at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to ASF sources, the security officials arrested Latif Hussain of Narowal from Karachi-bound flight PK-303 and recovered 1.5-kilogram heroin worth Rs 20 million.
The accused has been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal process. In another raid, the ASF arrested Shahid Alim, a resident of Timber Market, when he was attempting to smuggle US$15235 and RMB 10106 worth Rs 2 million to China through flight 892 of Shaheen Airlines. The accused has been handed over to the Customs Department for legal action.
