President calls for revival of Council of Islamic Ideology as strong body

President Dr Arif Alvi has called for revival of Council of Islamic Ideology as a strong body to discuss the new narratives of Islam like Namoos-e-Risalat.
In an interview with a private television channel, he said Namoos-e-Risalat is part of everyone's faith but damaging public properties is contrary to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him).
Regarding Dr Aafia issue, the President said he would raise the issue during any interaction US authorities and strong efforts would be made in this regard.
About women rights, the President said in order to discourage the practice of depriving women of their right in inheritance, a landmark bill will be tabled in the parliament which would provide for automatic transfer of property to the legal heirs as per family record with NADRA.
