180 doctors promoted from BPS 18 to 19

LAHORE: (APP) The 26th consecutive meeting of provincial selection board-2 was held at ACS conference, civil secretariat with Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja in the chair.
The meeting decided to promote 180 Senior Medical Officers (BS-18) to the rank of Additional Principal Medical Officers (BS-19).
These doctors fulfilling the 20 points criteria for promotion belongs to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department's general cadre list from seniority number 301 to 600. Around 120 Senior Medical Officers falling in this segment of seniority list could not qualify for the promotion criteria due to deficient dossier and securing less than 60 points minimally required for the promotion from grade 18 to grade 19.
The meeting also decided to grant Proforma promotion to grade 19 in respect of doctor Yawar Abbas, Ex- Additional Principal Medical Officer DHQ Hospital Faisalabad while one and the only Bio-medical Engineer available in the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Mazhar Malik was also granted promotion to grade 19. He is working as Deputy Secretary Procurement before this promotion.
The meeting decided to grant grade-19 to three Senior Librarians Tahira Butt, Rubina Yasmeen and Tasneem Kausar in the rank of Deputy Chief Librarians (BS-19). It is first time in the history of the province that any librarian has been promoted to BS-19 after attaining 4-tier service structure.
The meeting decided to grant proforma promotion to grade 19 in respect of Associate Professor from Government College of Science Multan Tariq Pervaiz, Principal Government College Sangla Hill, District Nankana Sahib Dr. Mehfooz Ahmed and Associate Professor of Arabic Studies Government Islamia College for Women Cooper Road Lahore Dr. Khalida Amjad from Grade 19 to grade 20. PMS Officer (BS-18) posted in S&GAD Fehmeeda Mushtaq and District Officer (HRM) Multan Haq Nawaz has also been granted proforma promotion.
Member Punjab Public Service Commission Captain (Retd) Tariq Masood, Secretary Services Punjab Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Secretary Regulations Dr. Muhammad Saleh Tahir, Secretary Management and Professional Development Punjab Nadeem Irshad Kiani, Secretary Higher Education Captain (R) Nassem Nawaz, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan, Additional Secretary Finance Nawaz Khalid Arabi, Deputy Secretary (Confidential) S&GAD Nabeela Irfan, Deputy Director Anti-corruption Establishment Rao Khalid Mehmood and other relevant senior officers participated in the meeting.
The PSB members termed the accelerated mode of promotions of provincial officers through PSB-2 during the last 10 months a remarkable achievement which was made possible through concerted efforts of the members of the board especially the Chairman PSB-2 Shamail Ahmad Khawaja, the ACS Punjab who materialized promotion of more than three thousand officers from grade 18 to grade 19 during this diminutive period of time. It is expected that the remaining back log will also be covered in days to come through convening more meetings of PSB-2, the ACS remarked in reciprocation.
