ECNEC approved massive project to modernize FBR and broaden the tax base in the country

ISLAMABAD - Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved a project worth 12480 million rupees to modernize Federal Board of Revenue and broaden the tax base.
Its meeting chaired by Adviser on Finance Hafeez Sheikh was held in Islamabad on Monday.
Under this project titled Pakistan Raises Revenue, the FBR will be equipped with advanced ICT based operations.
The meeting approved construction of Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant of Faisalabad City at a total cost of 19, 071.22 million rupees. The foreign component of the project includes loan and grant from the government of Denmark amounting to 17, 238.179 million rupees.
It approved 14430.506 million rupees for the execution of Lahore Water and Waste Water Management Project from Larech Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi.
The ECNEC approved The Winder Dam Project at the total cost of 15,230.76 million rupees. It will be constructed across Winder River in District Lasbela Balochistan.
The meeting also approved 22,921 million rupees for the completion of remaining works of Phase-1 of Kachhi Canal project in District Dera Bugti, Balochistan.
Ex-Post Facto approval was given for the development of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib at a modified cost of 16546.2 million rupees.
