Blasphemous content issue: Culprits will be dealt with iron hands, Nisar says

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says those responsible for blasphemy will be dealt with an iron hand.

Talking to media after inaugurating citizen facilitation center in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the culprits of blasphemy are enemies of humanity.

He said that we have asked Facebook administration to cooperate in removal and blocking of the blasphemous contents.

The Interior Minister said that government is making all out efforts to block blasphemous material on social media. He said eleven people who commented on such posts are being interrogated.

He urged all Muslims countries to practice unity against sordid conspiracies against Islam as the matter of blasphemy hurts feelings of all Muslims.

He said the government will take strict action against blasphemous contents and will avail all the possible options.

The Minister said that cooperation from the US Administration is also being sought through US embassy in Pakistan in this regard.

He urged the international community to have immense consultations on the issue of blasphemy as it has become a critical matter for the world.

He said ridiculing a religion in the name of freedom of expression will not be allowed.

The Interior Minister said that the issue of the report of dawn leaks will be published whenever the ministry received the report. He said that dawn leaks will not be allowed to make a controversial issue and used for political gains.

To a question about the statement of Hussain Haqani, he said that this matter is not related to ministry of interior. He said that issuing of visa is not the business of the Ministry of Interior but the government will soon introduce online visa system. He said that during the tenure of current government no illegal visa has been issued so far. He said that this is not a political matter.

On another question, he said that Pakistan and Britain are enjoying good relationship. He said that British home minister is arriving Pakistan next week and all the important issues will be discussed during the visit.

He said that an innocent Pakistani was killed in London and money laundering was done and we will continue to raise these issues at all the appropriate forums. He said the issue of arrest of Altaf Hussain would also be discussed. The minister questioned why and under which law a political party that does not own Pakistan should be allowed to do politics in Pakistan?

Chaudhry Nisar said that we are in contact with Interpol and will hire legal advisor if needed. He said that two more cases are being initiated on money laundering and hate speech against Altaf Hussain.

Replying a question, he said that FIA is conducting an inquiry into the PSL corruption issue and the truth will come into light soon.
