China - South Asia Summit : Pakistani exports to China be enhanced

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan called on Li Jiheng, Secretary of Communist Party China of Yunnan Province here at today in Kunming, China.
As per details, both leaders discussed matters related to mutual interests as well as bilateral ties of both countries during the meeting. Both dignitaries also expressed their satisfaction over the successful conduct of 4th China-South Asia Expo.
Current economic and commercial ties of Yunnan with Pakistan also come under discussion and both agreed to further strengthen the bilateral ties in different fields.
It has been proposed by Minister of Commerce that Yunnan should promote its ties with Pakistan in agricultural field as Pakistani agricultural products like rice and fruits exports to Yunnan would be a vital step to establish close relations with Yunnan.
While agreeing with the suggestion of Khurram Dastgir, Li Jiheng emphasized on the need to work closely in this area.
They also agreed to promote people to people contacts and bilateral cooperation in education, culture and tourism field.
It is also pertinent to mention here that Khurram Dastagir is on the official visit of China to attend 4th China-South Asia Expo.
