ANF country wide crack down brings massive seizures

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) in 11 different operations arrested 12 drug smugglers including 4 women and recovered a huge cache of narcotics, weighing 1.16 tons worth Rs 7.6 billion in Intentional Market, from drug smugglers.
According to spokesman ANF, the Force arrested the seized drugs included 1.147 tons heroin, 17 Kg hashish and 2.4 Kg opium.
These operations were launched at Rawalpindi, Attock, Nowshehra, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Karachi and Pishin, ANF spokesman said.
Anti-Narcotics Force Quetta while carrying out an intelligence led operation at Pishin seized 1.12 ton heroin which was concealed in the site area of Kili Gawal, District Pishin.
As per initial information, drug consignment was placed at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang for onward dispatch to some unidentified destination.
The ANF Karachi on pursuance of information raided a godown situated near 4-K Bus Stop, New Karachi, seizing 20 Kg heroin and 6 Kg hashish stocked inside the premises. Two Afghan nationals namely Janat Khan and Khuda Nazar were also arrested during the operation.
In another operation, ANF Karachi Airport Team arrested a passenger Qasim Khan at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, while he was boarding for Colombo by Flight No. UL-184 and recovered 1.4 Kg heroin which was concealed in his suitcase. In another operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug peddler identified as Gul Muhammad, recovering 1.385 Kg hashish from his possession. He was arrested from a Musa Katian, Hyderabad.
ANF Peshawar recovered 2 Kg heroin from the possession of lady Sidra resident of Faisalabad, who was travelling in a passenger van near Rashakai Interchange, Nowshera. In another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 6 Kg hashish from possession of an accused Tahir Khan resident of Mardan, while travelling in a passenger van near Rashakai Interchange, Nowshehra. Peshawar Airport Team arrested 2 passengers including Shakeel Ahmed and his wife named Qamar Sultana during routine check at Peshawar Airport, resulting in recovery of 1.5 Kg Heroin concealed in passenger bags.
They were boarding on Qatar Airline Flight QR-61 scheduled for Doha. In fourth operation, ANF Peshawar Road Check Team during search of a passenger van at Rashakai Motorway Interchange, Noshehra arrested a lady passenger Nasreen Perveen resident of Lahore and recovered 3.6 Kg hashish from her possession. In fifth operation, ANF Peshawar Road Check Team while carrying out search of a passenger van near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar arrested a passenger Abdul Mannan resident of Lakki Marwat and recovered 2.4 opium from his possession.
In sixth operation, ANF Peshawar searched a passenger van near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and arrested a lady Akhtari Bibi along with her male accomplice Syed Nabi, resulting in recovery of 1.5 Kg heroin form their possession. They intended to supply heroin to a local peddler at Rawalpindi.
The ANF Rawalpindi also arrested a local drug peddler at Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock and recovered 400 gram heroin from his possession.
All the cases have been registered and further investigations are under progress.
