Unfair elections would be ‘tragic’ for Pakistan, says Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif has said that elections that are not transparent will be tragic for Pakistan.

He made the statement while speaking to the media in Quetta on Sunday.

“No one can stop Pakistan from progressing if transparent polls are held,” he said. “The election commission should ensure that free and fair elections are held in the country,” he added.

“This is the biggest challenge for the country at the moment.”

The former Punjab chief minister termed the Mastung carnage, which claimed around 131 lives, was a grim example of terrorism in Pakistan.

“A complete investigation of the incident should be done,” the PML-N leader added
