US Defence Secretary breaks silence over the peace deal with Afghan Taliban
ISLAMABAD - US Defence Secretary breaks silence over the peace deal with Afghan Taliban.
US Defence Secretary Mark Esper says the truce agreement with Taliban that could lead to withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, looks very promising but it is not without risk.
Addressing the Munich Security Conference, he said it is time to give peace a chance in Afghanistan through political negotiation.
Esper expressed these views a day after a senior US official said the deal has been concluded with Taliban and would take effect very soon.
