CTD Punjab gunned down 6 Jamaat ul Ahraar terrorists

MULTAN,(APP): Six terrorists belonging to some banned organizations were killed in a shootout with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Multan, at Jahanian, tehsil of
district Khanewal, late Wednesday night.
The CTD Multan officials said the CTD team was working on a threat alert that terrorists were planning to launch
attacks in Khanewal district and their targets were vital installations and government authorities.
There were reports that nine to ten terrorists were present at Chak
98/10-R. A CTD team raided their hideout and warned them to surrender but the terrorists started firing at the raiding team and blew explosive material. The CTD team took cover and retaliated in self defense.
When the firing stopped, six terrorists were found dead by the firing of their own accomplices. Three to four unknown terrorists managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
The identification of the killed terrorists was yet to be ascertained.
The CTD team also recovered two hand grenades, two automatic rifles and
two pistols from them.
