Indian national sentenced for 3 years on spying charges

ISLAMABAD: An Indian national was sentenced for 3 years by military court over the charges of spying. He was shifted to Peshawar Central jail here at Monday.

 

As per details, the accused Nihal Ansari was arrested by police from Kohat over his illegal stay in Pakistan on 14 Nov, 2012. He was arrested by police from Palwasha Hotel, Kohat because he did not have any documents regarding his stay in Pakistan. The Police also  recovered maps of sensitive installations from his possession at the time of his arrest.

 

Sources claimed that Nihal Ansari was software engineers and he had 30 E-mail and 7 Facebook accounts. He came in Pakistan pretending to help a women while law enforcement agencies also recovered bogus ID card from his possession.  

 

Sources said the military court  awarded  punishment after Ansari admitted that he was spying in Pakistan.
