Analysts urge Islamabad, Kabul to increase cooperation and intelligence sharing to defeat terrorism

China, Afghanistan and Pakistan reached broad consensus on trilateral cooperation during the foreign ministers' dialogue between the three sides in Kabul today.
The three sides expressed willingness to strengthen coordination and push for the Taliban's early return to the negotiation table and reintegration into mainstream politics. Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to further improve bilateral ties, implement the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity, boost positive interactions in political, military, economic and security fields, handle disputes through friendly consultation, and properly manage temporarily intractable differences to avoid undermining the improvement of the bilateral ties.
Pakistan and Afghanistan should increase counter-terrorism cooperation and intelligence sharing to eliminate terrorism.
Political reconciliation in Afghanistan is imperative to promote peace in the war torn country. Negotiations between stakeholders concerned are the only viable and ultimate solution to Afghan dispute. Pakistan has always stressed upon the need of Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process to sustain durable peace in Afghanistan.
There are political figures in Afghanistan who realize that it is imperative to coordinate with Pakistan to resolve Afghan issues. We have always endorsed all initiatives taken for peace in Afghanistan. The invasion of US forces and negative involvement of India further escalated tensions in Afghanistan.
The ground reality of Afghanistan suggests that Taliban are still a political power in Afghanistan and dialogue with Taliban would bring positive results.
Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is involved in various terrorist activities across Pakistan. All the regional stakeholders should make joint efforts to eliminate terrorism and bring peace in Afghanistan. The United States should play its role in the region.
Pakistan's stance regarding Afghanistan is clear that peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. Afghan government needs to realize the difference between sincere friends and the elements, who do not want peace in Afghanistan for their own interests.
