US drone strike near Pak - Afghan border in Nangarhar

KABUL - The US drones targeted Tajikistan nationals fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the airstrike was carried out at around noon time today in Haska Mina district.
The statement further added that the militants were targeted in the vicinity of Langari Kand area of the district, leaving two of them dead.
According to the Nangarhar provincial government, the local residents and security personnel did not suffer any casualties in the airstrike.
The anti-government armed militant groups including the ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far.
This comes as the provincial government media office in a statement said earlier today that a series of air and ground operations were conducted against the terror group in the past 24 hours in this province, leaving five militants dead and four others wounded.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in the vicinity of Khogyani district of Nangahrar province and the dead bodies of at least two of the militants were also left in the area.
According to the Nangarhar government, at least four improvised explosive devices were also confiscated during the operations.
