UN security council meets on Syria

United Nation Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said there is no military solution to the conflict of Syria.

Speaking to a special meeting of the UN Security Council, he said the Middle East is in chaos and the cold war is back with a vengeance.

He urged countries to act responsibly in these dangerous circumstances.

Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia insisted that there is no credible confirmation of toxic substance use in Douma.

At the meeting, Syrian ambassador Bashar Jaafari warned that Damascus will have no other choice but to defend itself if the west launches military action.
