NEW YORK: Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi stated that World should stand behind Pakistan in its mission of eradicating terrorism.
She said “The terrorist threat has become more pervasive and has evolved in complex and unpredictable directions, posing an even greater danger to international peace and security.”
She urged the world to work together in the fight against terrorism.
Envoy said “The need for all States to work together, in a coordinated and cooperative manner, to address this menace comprehensively in all its forms and manifestations.”
She also revealed that Pakistan has suffered most in and lost thousands of precious lives in the fight.
She also claimed that Operation Zarb-e-Azb produced positive results that was launched in June 2014.
“We must also curtail the ability to abuse and misuse the internet and social media to radicalize and recruit young people, by identifying global and regional solutions that involve governments, private enterprise and civil society,” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told the Security Council.
