Water level, electricity generation at Tarbela Dam reduces significantly

TARBEILA - Water level of Tarbaila Dam Monday continued to decrease as today it was recorded 1482.34 feet while only seven power generation units were producing electricity.
According to the Tarbaila Dam officials, after reaching the maximum level of Tarbaila dam reservoir from last one month the water level has started decreasing on daily basis, today recorded water level was 1482.34 cusec feet where water inflow remained on 33100 cusec feet and outflow was 35000.
Owing to out flow of the water from Tarbaila lake power generation has also reduced to 730 megawatts electricity where only 7 units were producing electricity and 10 units were shut down.
It was also disclosed that 500 cusec feet water was released for Pehur High-Level Canal (PHLC) to supply water for some areas of KPK for irrigation.
