PCB announces Captains for Test and T20 Format

On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed Shan Masood as the Test captain and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20I captain for the Pakistan cricket team.
This announcement followed Babar Azam's resignation as the all-format captain due to the team's disappointing performance in the ongoing World Cup 2023.
Azam's leadership came into question after the team's below-par showing, resulting in their first defeat against Afghanistan in ODIs and their initial World Cup loss to South Africa in this century. Pakistan, led by Azam, finished fifth in the standings, failing to qualify for the semifinals with eight points.
