Imran Khan gets an unexpected huge relief

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a written order, staying the jail trial of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the cipher case. This order, issued by Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Riffat, highlights concerns about the nature of the trial.

The court's order suggests that, upon reflection, the jail trial of the cipher case cannot be characterized as an open trial. It points out the absence of documented evidence indicating that the pre-conditions for a jail trial have been met.

The order specifically requests the production of any such document during the next hearing.

According to the order, the attorney general for Pakistan (AGP) stated that the federal cabinet had approved the jail trial of the case. However, the court noted that the AGP failed to produce a copy of the cabinet decision during the proceedings.

Furthermore, the AGP was unable to present the summary upon which the cabinet based its decision. The order emphasizes the necessity of having the required documents on record to ensure a just decision.
