Gaza death toll hits 11,320 including 4,650 children in Israeli strikes

In the Gaza Strip, an ongoing Israeli offensive has led to a sharp increase in the Palestinian death toll, reaching 11,320 individuals, as reported by the government media office on Tuesday.

The statement provided a breakdown of the victims, revealing that among them were 4,650 children and 3,145 women, with an additional 29,200 people sustaining injuries. Notably, 3,600 individuals, including 1,755 children, are still unaccounted for.

The grim toll extends beyond civilians, as the assaults claimed the lives of 198 medics, 22 civil defense personnel, and 51 journalists. The impact on healthcare infrastructure is severe, with 25 hospitals and 52 healthcare centers rendered inoperative. Israeli forces targeted 55 ambulances, exacerbating the crisis.

Alarming reports from the media office emphasized the dire situation at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where 40 patients succumbed to the combined pressures of an Israeli siege and fuel shortage within the past five days. Tragically, 82 individuals were interred in a mass grave on the hospital grounds due to the ongoing siege and the occupation's refusal to lift it, creating a distressing situation.
