Ishaq Dar clarifies report about Rs. 5000 note cancellation

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has rejected the rumours about cancellation of certain Prize Bonds and Currency notes.
In a statement in Islamabad on Monday, he said any proposal regarding cancellation of Prize Bonds worth Rupees forty thousand and currency note of Rupees five thousand is not under consideration.
Earlier the rumours had surfaced about the cancellation of the 5000 rupees notes in line with the Narendra Modi announcement of cancellation of notes in India in order to curb the menace of corruption from society.
