9 including 5 policemen martyred in Raiwind suicide attack

LAHORE:In Lahore, nine persons martyred while nineteen others injured in suicide attack at a check post on Raiwind Road last night.
The injured include nine police officials.
According to rescue 1122, critically injured have been shifted to Jinnah and General Hospitals.
ASP Raiwind, Zubair Nazir is among the injured who is being provided medical treatment.
IG Punjab has issued high alert orders in the province and directed to tighten the security.
DIG Police operations Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf says that according to the preliminary investigations, it was a suicide attack whose target was the police. He said limbs of the suicide bomber have been recovered.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have strongly condemned the terrorist attack.
While condemning the attack the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought a report of the incident from IG Police Punjab. APP/AFP
