Religious Parties conference in Lahore rejects Women Protection Bill


LAHORE: Religious Parties conference has rejected Women Protection Bill and gave deadline of  March 27 to Punjab government to withdraw the controversial bill.

 

As per details, the meeting of religious party’s leaders was held in JI central office Mansoora here at Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the formation of strategy regarding women protection bill.

 

A declaration was issued by the meeting demanding the Governemnt to withdraw from bill till March 27. The meeting of religious scholars will be held in Islamabad on April 2 to announce the next plan in this regard.

 

While addressing the media after meeting Moulana Fazal ur Rehman said that we completely rejected women protection bill while dialogues should be held separately with federal and provincial government in this regard.

 

Moulana further stated that he has been invited by Punjab CM for meeting but he did not accept his invitation after that PM Nawaz invited him for meeting.

 

He expressed his reservation in the meeting with PM Nawaz while PM Nawaz assured that government will consult religious scholars on federal level to improve the women protection bill.
