POF Wah should discover new markets for weapons exports: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited the Pakistan Ordinance Factory, Wah here at Tuesday and lauded the role of POF to meet the necessaries of arms and ammunitions of Pak Army in operation Zarb-e-Azab.
According to ISPR, Army Chief visited POF Wah cant and reviewed the progress of the weapon manufacturing. Army Chief was welcomed by POF Chairman Lt. Gen. Omer Mehmood upon his arrival.
Gen. Raheel was also briefed by Omer Mehmood over the future projects of weapon manufacturing. Army Chief also inaugurated the new weapon plant here at POF and said that POF Wah should discover new markets for weapons exports.
He added that POF is the only local industry to meet the weapon needs of Pak Army while POF is producing more weapons from its target.
Army Chief emphasized on innovation and self-sufficiency in arms saying that the technology should be upgraded for independence in arms.
