Hip Hop Star Akon to raise Diamer Bhasha Dam fund in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - The Hip Hop star Akon, part of the World Soccer Stars 2019, has given a heads up to start contributing for the construction of Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.
The star singer expressing his concern over the water scarcity issue faced by Pakistan has urged the whole of Pakistan and overseas Pakistanis to contribute as much as they can to the dam fund.
He himself along with Touch Sky Group will collect the funds for the construction of these dams.
In a special message Akon took to the social media and spoke the urgency and the need for the dams “This is a special message from me to Pakistan.
According to a report issued by UN water resources will dry up in Pakistan by 2025. I’m encouraging all the Pakistan and all the Pakistanis around the world to support this Bhasha and Mohmand dam, I am in support and supporting the Touch Sky Group to raise the funds in the development of all these dams.
So let’s mobilize Pakistan to a better future along with the world superstars,” he added. link

Earlier, Akon in 2015 launched a solar project aimed to provide electricity to 600 million Africans and has risen up to a billion dollars to finance projects in Africa.
The Grammy Award winner will be visiting Pakistan along with the World Soccer Stars 2019 in April.
