Blast in Orakzai Agency

PESHAWAR: An explosion has been reported in the Orakzai Agency on Thursday morning.
A leading tribal elder was killed and two others injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack in Toor Samat area of Lower Orakzai Agency on Thursday morning.
Officials in political administration informed that three tribal elders were coming to Hangu when their vehicle was hit by an IED. As a result of the bomb attack, the vehicle smashed into pieces whereas one on board was killed and two others injured.
The killed elder was identified as Malik Jan. The injured were admitted to District Headquarter Hospital at Hangu.
Soon after the explosion security forces rushed to the site and conducted a search operation. The main road connecting Lower Orakzai Agency with Hangu was closed for traffic. So far there exists curfew-like situation in the area.
