KP government to arrest parents refusing anti-polio vaccination to children

PESHAWAR (APP): The district administration has planned action under 3MPO Act against parents who refused to vaccinate their children against polio here on Wednesday.
Acting Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Mehmood told media that today was the last day of ten-day anti-polio campaign and parents who refused to vaccinate their children would be arrested under 3MPO.
He said a total of 1200 teams comprising official from Health Department, UNICEF, WHO, police and district administration were taking part in the anti-polio campaign. Around 8500 parents refused to administer anti-polio drops to their children and action was imminent against them, he added.
Shahid Mehmood further said that mostly in Deh Bahadur, Yakkatoot, Kakshaal, Shaheen Muslim Town I and II and adjecents area parents were reluctant to vaccinate children against the crippling disease.
