660 MW Thar Coal Power plant to be set up by China

China Coal Technology & Engineering Group (CCTEG) will set up 660 MW power plant in Thar.
Chairman China Coal and Engineering, Wang Jinhua called on Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Wednesday.
Matters related to beginning of mining and setting up coal-based power plant in Thar Coal Block-1 came under discussion.
The Chinese company will mine 7 point 8 million tons of coal from Thar Coal and establish a 660 megawatt power plant.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said Sindh Government’s joint initiative with ENGRO for mining and establishing a coal based power plant in Thar Coal Block-2 has restored the confidence of foreign investors.
