Polling underway for the election of Islamabad first Mayor and Deputy Mayors

ISLAMABAD: Polling has been started for the first-ever Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Federal Capital, Islamabad. 77 elected members of Islamabad metropolitan corporation are taking part through secret balloting in Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s election.
As per details, 50 Chairman and 27 members elected on reserved seats are casting their votes for the selection of Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.
The process of polling is being held in Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad which will continue from 9 Am to 5 p.m without break.
It is also worthy to mention here that there is neck to neck contest between PTI and PML-N. Shiekh Ansar is the candidate of PML-N while Raja Khurram Nawaz is the candidate of PTI for the slot of Mayor Islamabad.
