Shahid Afridi sends special message to India over Independence day with few wishes

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s former Skipper Shahid Afridi wished India Independence Day and hoped for the revival of cricketing ties between the two neighbouring countries.

Shahid Afridi, who has remained in headlines for controversial political comments during his playing days and after getting retired, also hoped for a peaceful and prosperous region.

Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2012/13. The two boards, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Cricket Control India (BCCI), signed an MoU at the time of ‘Big Three’ formation for playing six bilateral series from 2015 to 2022.

However, India have breached the signed MoU, citing their government does not allow them to play against Pakistan.
