PTI MPA Imran Ali Shah seeks apology from the citizen who was thrashed in Karachi

KARACHI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) newly elected provincial lawmaker Imran Ali Shah, who thrashed a motorist in middle of a Karachi road, reached the victim’s house and apologised over his action, hours after the video of the incident went viral.

Shah, a new MPA of the Sindh Assembly, along with PTI’s Karachi chapter President Firdous Shamim Naqvi, went to Daud Chuhan’s residence on Tuesday night seeking forgiveness.

Chauhan, who is the senior additional director for coordination at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), forgave the PTI leader, saying he cannot send a person back empty-handed who comes to my door.

Daud, who is still unsure why the MPA beaten him up, hoped: “PTI chief Imran Khan will serve justice in the matter as the ball is now in his court”.

Maintaining his innocence in the matter, the victim said that Shah’s vehicle was hit by another motorist and not by him.

“We had resolved the matter whereafter Imran Ali Shah slapped me,” he said, adding that he did not want to take legal action the MPA. Shah is wealthy and powerful as he has dozens of guards, the victim said.
