KARACHI- The induction ceremony of Backhoe Dredger Rah Kusha and SplitHoper Barges Tarseel-1 & 2 was held at PN Dockyard in Karachi on Thursday.
Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat, graced theoccasion as chief guest.
According to press release issued Pakistan Navy, the two ships have beenbuilt for Pakistan Navy at Tianjin Shipyard in China.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chief of Naval Staff stated thatPakistan’s sea trade routes and Maritime zones are the life lines forcountry’s economy and need to be guarded at all costs.
He said our ports and harbor are the gateway to this economic line and theneed to keep them functional at all times mandates a strong Navy.
Vice Chief of Naval Staff said that the induction of new ships is yetanother manifestation of Pak-China bilateral defence cooperation, which isunparalleled and has always lived up to the expectations.
