Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Azhar Ali, has said that if Mohammad Rizwan gets injured, does the team have a backup plan?
Speaking on the ARY program, Azhar Ali mentioned that there has been ongoing discussion within the team about the backup plan for a while. Players should be prepared for backup plans. He stated that when things get tough, the national team players must improvise, but instead they panic. There should be back up plan for everyone scenario even when the batting order is collapsing, the team should fall back to a viable backup plan.
Azhar Ali stated that one cannot assess someone's performance solely based on innings; they should benefit from Sarfaraz Ahmed's experience.
He also suggested that new players should be given a chance before the World Cup. Decisions regarding the match against Australia would depend on the conditions. The department of spin should be considered.
Azhar Ali expressed that Shadab Khan should be given some rest, and Usama Mir should be given an opportunity.
Imam-ul-Haq should be given more matches, and then better decisions can be made. Imam-ul-Haq made a good start today; he should continue with patience.
