Chairman PCB sacked the entire selection committee

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took decisive action on Tuesday by dismissing the entire selection committee, a move prompted by the national team's below-par performance in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB management committee, personally ousted Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Wasim Haider from their roles.

An imminent announcement regarding the formation of a new selection committee is anticipated within the next two days. It is expected that the PCB will select the new chief selection committee from a pool of former cricketers, adding a fresh perspective to the decision-making process.

Notably, Inzamamul Haq and Morne Morkel had already resigned from their positions as chief selector and bowling coach. This restructuring comes as part of broader changes within the cricketing management.

The meeting convened by Zaka Ashraf saw the participation of influential former cricketers, including Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir, and Wahab Riaz.

The discussions during the meeting were likely centered around issues relevant to the selection committee, indicating a comprehensive evaluation and planning for the future of Pakistan cricket.
