PTI government austerity drive: How much money has been saved so far?

ISLAMABAD - Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs Iftikhar Durrani says the government has saved one hundred forty seven million rupees in its austerity drive.

Briefing media in Islamabad on Wednesday evening, he said the federal ministers will give briefing regarding austerity from next week.

The Special Assistant said Prime Minister announced the austerity drive soon after taking oath of his position to reduce burden on public exchequer. As part of this drive, the number of employees of Prime Minister House were significantly reduced.

He said the staff of Prime Minister House will be further reduced to save money.

Iftikhar Durrani said the Prime Minister himself pays the expenses incurred on his guests. He said the security expenditures of PM House in Banigala were also borne by him.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister said in Naya Pakistan rulers will have to be accountable before people.

The Special Assistant said meeting regarding Rehmat al lil Alameen Conference will be held tomorrow.
