ADB to provide 300m dollars for infrastructure up-gradation in Punjab

Asian Development Bank (ADB) will fund 300 million dollars for the up-gradation of infrastructure and civic facilities in four cities of Punjab, including Sargodha, Muzafargarh, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur.
Punjab government will also make fifty million dollars available for the programme.
Presiding over a meeting in Lahore, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan directed the Local Government & Community Development Department to ensure transparent use of funds and observe all rules and regulations in this regard.
It is the 2nd phase of the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme. In the first phase, civic facilities in Sialkot and Sahiwal cities were upgraded.
It may be added that the Punjab Cities Improvement Investment Programme includes provision of water supply, sewerage facilities, solid waste management and other civic amenities.
