World largest crane handling devices arrive at Karachi port, significantly enhancing Cargo handling capabilities.

KARACHI: Gantry cranes, one of the biggest container handling cranes in the world have reached in Karachi port. These biggest gadgets will be given to the Pakistan Deep Water Container port (PDWCP). These hi- tech gadgets will be used for container handling first ever in Pakistan Discharge of the gadgets comprising ship to shore cranes and rubber tire gantries. Huge ships carrying up to 18000 TEU’s (containers) could be handled with these gadgets. These cranes will be helpful for (PDWCP) formally known as South Asia Port Pakistan Terminals Limited (SAPTL) to handle largest ships in the world. First set of four STS and six RTG have arrived while additional cranes will be coming on port in near future.
