Pakistan Military spokesperson responds over request to wear military caps during PSL Final

RAWALPINDI – The spokesperson for armed forces of Pakistan has apparently ‘discouraged’ wearing the military caps during the final of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League.
The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Major General Asif Ghafoor took to Twitter and acknowledged the reverence of Pak Army by the civilians, however, emphasized that sports are beyond politics.

The response by military’s media wing came after Pakistani cricket fans demanded to wear military-style caps and shirts during the PSL final in Karachi and other clashes.
Recently, the Indian cricket team wore camouflage caps during a one-day international against Australia in Ranchi and lost the match.
The minister for information and broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take action against India for politicising Gentleman’s game.
The final of Pakistan Super League is scheduled on March 17th at the National Stadium in Karachi for which Quetta Gladiators have already reserved the spot.
