US supporting Pakistan in all fields to benefit both countries

WASHINGTON: US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Marie Royce says United States is Pakistan's largest market with bilateral trade topping 663 billion rupees this year.

Speaking at the international conference of Pakistan-US Alumni Network in Islamabad, she said whether it is supporting tourism to technical education, American-Pakistani connections in all fields will only benefit both our countries.

Over 200 Pakistani alumni of American government exchange programmes participated in the conference.

Separately, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Marie Royce also met with chairman Higher Education Commission Dr. Tariq Banuri, and discussed the continuing educational partnership between the American and Pakistani governments, including the Fulbright Program.

She also spoke to 156 Pakistanis preparing to depart for the U.S., where they will pursue advanced studies and research in the Fulbright's Master's, PhD and Foreign Language Teaching Assistant programs.
